Well, how did we do it? Despite the fiendish weather we have all been experiencing we managed to happen upon a good day for our latest installation! Even the day before lifting and loading the sedum from the field was much better than we had feared.
It’s always tricky at this time of year lifting the sedum without damaging the rest of the field as the ground is pretty wet. The new roof is as you can see fairly drab and you can still see the joins. In this as in every installation we sprinkle more aggregate into these joins for the sedum to spread into. As the weather improves the sedum, like many other plants, will sprout into active growth and become the interesting and beautiful roof we love!
