What a good day to be out and on a roof! The new sedum roof really adds to the kerb appeal of this beautiful house. Our client was unsure whether to have a pebble margin all round but as you can see decided to go for as full a sedum experience as possible. It’s often an aesthetic decision but sometimes more to do with practicality. For example, if the edge nearest to the house is very shaded we might suggest going for a small pebble margin as sedums do not like shade. In this case the roof has a fairly open aspect but we did advise (and install) a very small margin where the sedum meets the tiled roof. Look carefully and you will see a few pebbles peeping up! This will help reduce the chance of the sedum growing into the tiles.
